Work on the construction site of the new bridge of Genoa continues uninterrupted, and now almost all the Piers have been completed. On the night of January 14, the raising of Pier 16 was completed with the casting of the apical parts on which the span is placed. The Pier measures 33 meters and is composed of 7 segments, each 4.50 meters high, over the initial part of 1.5 meters, while the steel span that will be placed on Pier 16 has already been completed on the ground.
In the meantime, work is also continuing on the remaining Piers. In particular, the raising of Pier 1 has begun and the raising of Piers 10, 12, 13 and 17 is continuing. Work is also being done to restore the sixth segment of Pier 13, damaged during the fire occurred on December 31, 2019. The raising of Abutment B has also begun.
In addition, work is also proceeding on the ramp connecting to the A7, where the crowning beam of Abutment A and the foundations of Piers 1, 2 and 3 are being built.
The assembly of the spans is proceeding as well. In addition to the 6 spans already raised, two other spans are ready for the next raising operations, those that will have to rest on Piers 13-14 and 15-16, and the assembly on the ground continues also for the span to be raised between Abutment A and Pier 1, as well as the spans 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, 16-17.
