Raised the fourth span of the new bridge, the first on the east

The fourth span of the new bridge was raised this morning, the first on the east. Elevated at about 35 meters high, between Piers 14 and 15, the new span is 50 meters long and weighs about 560 tons, together with the side carters. The newly installed span is added to the other three already raised between Piers 4 and 5, 5 and 6, and 6 and 7. The bridge can now be seen on both sides of the Polcevera stream.

Meanwhile, on the construction site, despite the wave of bad weather that hit Liguria in recent weeks, the work is continuing.

This week, new exceptional transports of steel blocks have been carried out from the quay at the mouth of the Polcevera stream towards the construction site on the west, where the processing of the plinths of the abutment A and the Pier 1, and the elevation of the Pier 2 are proceeding. The assembly of the spans 3-4, 7-8, 8-9 continues on the ground.

On the east, instead, once the elevation of the Piers 14 and 15 has been completed, the construction of the plinth of the Pier 17 is proceeding, after the completion of the work for the construction of the piles. In addition, activities are continuing for the elevation of the Piers 11 and 13, while on the ground the assembly of the spans 13-14, 15-16 continues, in preparation for the forthcoming raisings. Finally, on the connection ramp with the A7, the work for the construction of the foundation piles of the abutment A and of the Pier 3 continues.
